Thyme to Cook

Community rules

A cookbook people open in their kitchen, with their family around. These are the rules for keeping it that way.

The rules

No spam or advertising

Recipes, not billboards. A link to where the recipe came from is fine; a wall of links, an email address in your display name, or asking people to message you elsewhere is not.

No sexual content

This is a cookbook people open in their kitchen with their family around. Sexual content of any kind is removed, and sexual content involving minors is reported to the authorities and the account is ended permanently.

No hate, harassment or threats

Attacking someone for who they are, following them around the app, or threatening anyone gets the account ended. You do not have to argue with someone to get this enforced — block them and report it.

Credit where it is due

Importing a recipe you saw somewhere keeps a link to its source, on purpose. Stripping that out and passing someone else’s work off as your own is a copyright report.

Do not encourage harm

Including to yourself. If you are struggling, please talk to someone who can actually help — in the US, call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. A recipe app is not the right place for this and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.

Objectionable content and abusive behaviour

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Recipes, notes, names and anything else you write are yours, but the moment something is shared with another person it is subject to the rules on the support page.

Content that breaks those rules is removed. Accounts that break them are ended, without a refund of any unused subscription, and sexual content involving minors is reported to the authorities.

Every shared recipe carries a Report control, and anyone can be blocked from a cookbook you own. Reports are read by a person, and the response time is published on the support page.

Reporting and blocking

Every shared recipe has a Report control. You do not have to argue with anyone to get a rule enforced: block them and report it. The owner of a cookbook can remove anyone from it, and anyone can leave a cookbook at any time.

Reports are read by a person. We aim to respond within 48 hours. You can also write to [email protected].
